Students Entering Grades 4-9 $75.00 (includes camp t-shirt) Mounds Park Academy Basketball is excited to offer our annual Panther Basketball Camp held Monday, July 27-Thursday July 30 from 9 AM–11AM in the Lansing Sports Center. With more than 40 campers attending last year, we are expecting another tremendous camp. MPA Basketball coaches will be running the camp along current and former players from both the boys and girls teams. The emphasis will be on shooting, ball handling, and fundamentals for all skill levels. This camp is open to MPA and non-MPA students alike, who are entering grades 4-9 in Fall 2020. MPA students are encouraged to invite a friend!

COVID-19 Protocols for MPA Camps and Workouts

Prearrival Home Health Screening:

· Families will conduct a daily temperature screening prior to arriving on the MPA campus. Individuals or anyone in their immediate family (living in the same home) reporting the following symptoms will not be permitted into the building or school grounds and will be asked to return home.

o A temperature of 100.0 or greater.

o A cough or sore throat.

o Shortness of breath.

o Direct household contact experiencing undiagnosed symptoms.

Arrival to Workouts INSIDE the LSC:

  • All participants must be wearing masks upon arrival to camps/workouts.
  • All participants will check in through the side door #8 of the LSC.
  • All participants must adhere to six-foot physical distancing while on the MPA campus.
  • Supervising coaches will conduct a daily symptom check including collecting responses to Home Health Screening and temperature taking on all participants. Participants with a temperature of 100.0 degrees or greater will not be allowed to participate.
  • Athletes will sanitize their hands after the daily symptom check and enter the LSC.
  • Spectators/parents are not allowed inside the building for inside activities.

  • All participants must be wearing masks upon arrival to camps/workouts.
  • All participants must adhere to six-foot physical distancing while on campus.
  • Supervising coaches will conduct a daily symptom check including collecting responses to Home Health Screening and temperature taking on all participants. Participants with a temperature of 100.0 degrees or greater will not be allowed to participate.
  • Participants will meet by the tennis court shed with masks for a daily symptom check.
  • Athletes will sanitize their hands immediately after the daily symptom check.
  • Spectators/parents are asked to use face coverings while attending outside workouts and camp using social distancing spacing of six-feet.

Coaches:

  • Coaches will wear face coverings at all times inside or outside.
  • Coaches will conduct a daily symptom check on all athletes including collecting responses to Home Health Screening and temperature taking. Participants with a temperature of 100.0 degrees or greater will not be allowed to participate.
  • Coaches are asked to record and report all information collected to the athletic director daily.
  • Equipment will be divided for each group and not shared with others.
  • All equipment will be sprayed and wiped down by coaches and documented during the camp/workout breaks.
  • At the end of the day, coaches will sanitize all equipment and high contact areas (doors, etc.)

  • A maximum of 1:9 coach to athlete ratio will be maintained both inside and outside. Mixing of groups will be minimized.
  • Athletes should wear face coverings at all times when not actively participating in the field of play.
  • Athletes must have their own water bottles. Water fountains cannot be used.
  • Athletes will have designated resting areas.
  • Hand washing in the family bathroom and training room along with hand sanitizer will be used during breaks.
  • If an athlete must use the bathroom, it will be the bathroom near the entrance of the Lansing Center. If coming from outside athletes will use bathrooms in the North Commons area. All Athletes must re-sanitize before re-entering the camp workout.

Leaving the Venue:

  • At the end of the camp or workouts, participants will wear their masks and sanitize hands before leaving.
  • Participants will not touch the exit doors. Coaches will escort them to the exit door #8 in the LSC or dismiss from the field or court.

The MPA soccer coaches have designed a fun and challenging week of activities for all soccer players, beginner through advanced. Enhance your skills, learn something new and develop team concepts in a fun and friendly environment.

Sample Curriculum: Dribbling, Passing, Receiving, Turns, Fakes & Moves, Shooting, Moving without the ball, Passing Combinations, Individual Defending, Defensive Support.

The Mounds Park Academy Girls’ Volleyball program will be hosting a youth volleyball camp this summer. Varsity Coach Jeff Kunze-Hoeg will lead this camp along with assistant coaches and current and former players. The camp will emphasize volleyball fundamentals.
