Global Grains: How Corn, Wheat, and Rice Shape Our World with Mr. Klein and Ms. Santiago

From flat breads to tamales to Minnesota rice, join MPA's own Mr. Klein and Ms. Santiago as we explore the use of global grains. We will incorporate elements of geography, world history, food science, nutrition and cooking to explore the importance of our earth's 3 staple grains: Corn, wheat, and rice. Students will learn how different cultures throughout the world use these grains to create unique foods. Best of all, students will get to make and taste their own foods using these grains! Grade refers to grade student will enter in fall.
Free Panther Club care is available from 7:30-9:00 AM for 9:00-Noon classes, and 4:00-5:30 for 1:00-4:00 PM classes.
Supervised lunch and recess will occur between Noon-1:00 PM for full-day class participants. A peanut and nut-free bag lunch is required for full-day participants.
